Ceramic-Coating LE
• for the coating of ceramics and metals
• good chemical stability
• high hardness and small porosity
• for the high temperature application up to 1500°C (2732°F)
• contains stabilized zirconium oxide

Description

Ceramic-Coating LE is a special coating on the basis of CaO stabilized zirconium oxide. Contrary to the frequently used zircon (zirconium silicate) zirconium oxide indictaes a substantially better stability and temperature stress. Ceramic-Coating LE shows a high hardness and is extremly abrasive resistant. By its small porosity the permeability of gas is extremly small. Ceramic-Coating LE is preferebly used as a protection and interface for graphite and ceramic crucibles. Within the metallurcigal area crucibles, troughs, dies and thermocouples are coated with this product in order to obtain very pure melts and clean casting surfaces. The substrates which can be coated should indicate thermal coefficients of expansion of <8.5·10-6/K.

Ceramic-Coating LE can be used both at air as well as under vacuum and inert gas to 1500°C (2732°F), briefly this may be exceeded.

Application

• Resuspend Ceramic-Coating LE prior to use. Dilute with distilled water if necessary.
• Application on clean surfaces is possible by brushing, dipping.
• Dry thoroughly. Do not contact wet coatings with metal melts. Additional layers may be applied after drying.
• Curing of the coating should take place with 350 to 400°C (662-752°F).
• A thin coating application (50-100µm) is favourable. Thick layers may crack during use and tend to chip off.
• Tools can be cleaned with water.

Storage-Container Size

Containers should be kept closed and product protected against frost. A storage temperature of >5°C (>41°F) is recommended. Ceramic-Coating LE is available in 1kg-containers.
