The application of boron nitride coatings of the type Weld-Sputter-Release BN25 and Weld-Sputter-Release BN10 on surfaces to be protected facilitates the removing of weld sputter and other splashes, which develop frequently when welding and laying on of wear-protection layers by the good separation efficiency quite substantially. In this way the mechanical cleaning of workpieces can be almost completely avoided. The boron nitride coatings are suitable for coating usual steel and can be applied like any commercial paint by brushing or spraying. As a quick drying version the products Boron-Nitride-Coating Grade E and ALU-STOP BN-A Boron Nitride Aerosol are available.
