Solders are relatively low
melting metal alloys (usually eutectics), which melt in the temperatue
range between 180 and 1000°C. One differentiates between solders (melting
point <450°C) and brazing alloys (melting point >450°C).
For the brazing of light
metals for example aluminium is used, with which the melting point of 658°C
is lowered by admixtures of Zn, Sn, Ni, Cd or Si to 500-620°C. An important
solder for the brazing of light alloys are such brazing alloys on the basis
of aluminium and silicon. |
